Control Sixth from your phone. With the Telegram Relay you can send tasks, approve actions, answer Sixth’s questions and follow its progress from Telegram, then pick the work back up in VS Code. Telegram works through your own Telegram bot, which you create in a minute with @BotFather.

Setting it up

Open Sixth Settings → Integrations and find Telegram Relay. Setup has three steps. 1. Create a Telegram bot
  1. Open @BotFather on Telegram.
  2. Send /newbot and follow the prompts.
  3. Give it any name (e.g. “My Sixth AI”).
  4. Copy the bot token it gives you.
Click I have my bot token. 2. Paste your bot token Paste the token into the field and continue. The token is saved securely in VS Code’s secret storage. 3. Open your bot on Telegram Sixth shows a QR code and a link. Scan the QR code with your phone camera, or open the link on your phone, to connect instantly. If no link is shown, send /pair <code> to your bot with the pairing code Sixth displays. Pairing codes expire after 5 minutes. Click New Code to get a fresh one. When pairing completes, Settings shows Telegram Relay Active with your bot’s username.

Using Sixth from Telegram

Just message your bot to start a task. Sixth replies in the chat as it works:
  • Approvals (running a command, editing a file…) appear as buttons you can tap.
  • Questions from Sixth can be answered by replying directly.
  • Photos you send are passed to Sixth with your message.

Bot commands

Keeping Telegram available when VS Code is closed

By default the bot runs inside VS Code, so it only responds while VS Code is open. To keep it connected 24/7, turn on the Background Daemon in Settings → Integrations.

Re-pairing and disconnecting

Once connected, the Telegram Relay section has two buttons:
  • Re-pair Device — link a different phone or chat.
  • Disconnect — unlink Telegram from Sixth.
You can also send /disconnect to your bot.
WhatsApp, Discord, Slack and iMessage relays are coming soon.
